µTorrent, el cliente perfecto para PC's con pocos recursos.

µTorrent es un cliente de BitTorrent muy optimizado, tanto en tamaño, pesando solo 82 KB, como por su poco consumo de memoria, solo 4 megas.

No se puede igualar a clientes más completos como Azureus, pero hay que reconocer que, para los pocos recursos que consume, es un cliente muy potente. Entre lo más interesante es su soporte de varias descargas simultáneas, pudiendo establecer prioridades y anchos de banda para cada torrent en particular o para el cliente en general.

Nueva versión de µTorrent -1.5.

La versión 1.5 del popular cliente de redes Bittorrent acaba de ser liberada.

uTorrent Stats es un gadget con el que poder controlar el conocido programa para compartir ficheros P2P bajo Windows, para la barra de Vista Sidebar. El gadget aprovecha el interfaz de usuario conocido como WebUI que traen incorporado las últimas versiones de uTorrent.

El descargador de torrents por excelencia pone a nuestra disposición la versión beta 1.7.0 b1875.

uTorrent no necesita mucha presentación ya que se esta convirtiendo en el programa más utilizado para descargar archivos .torrent sobretodo gracias a su probada eficacia.

Esta diseñado para consumir unos recursos mínimos sin dejar de tener las funcionalidades de los clientes más pesados. Ocupa poco, no hay que instalarlo, es gratuito, soporta 44 idiomas (incluido español), etc.

Entre las novedades de esta versión destaca la vuelta del control automático del ratio de subida y la total compatibilidad con Windows Vista.

Saber que significa cada ícono o luz de estado puede ayudarnos bastante a la hora de identificar algun problema en el uTorrent. Para eso hemos traducido la parte del FAQ oficial de éste P2P referida al tema.

Primero comenzaremos dividiéndolos entre “iconos de estado” y “luces de estado de la red”, siendo los primeros quienes nos informan acerca del estado y los problemas de los torrents en si (”descargándose“, “pausa“, “detenido“, etc) y las segundas refiriéndose más a lo que a conectividad o estado de conexión se trata (por ejemplo, “puertos no redireccionados“).

Ya tenemos disponible una nueva versión del ligero y eficiente cliente de BitTorrent para Windows, uTorrent 1.7 (Build 3341).

Las principales novedades que encontraremos tenemos:

* Nuevo icono de mayor resolución de 48×48 pixels.
* Soporte completo para Windows Vista. Se nota especialmente en el color de las ventanas.
* Soporte para peers locales, es decir, situados dentro de nuestra LAN.
* Nueva posibilidad de actualizarse automáticamente a las nuevas versiones de pruebas en las opciones avanzadas.

Desde este enlace puedes descargar esta última versión para Windows. Teniendo en cuenta que este magnífico cliente BitTorrent para Windows pasa de pesar 178KB en su versión anterior a 218KB, que continua siendo realmente poco.

También seguimos esperar con impaciencia las primeras versiones para Mac y Linux.

Tras la compra de µTorrent por parte de Bittorrent para convertirlo en el cliente oficial de este protocolo, parecía que el desarrollo se había estancado ligeramente.

Afortunadamente no ha sido así, y tras un año se ha lanzado µTorrent 1.8, una nueva versión de este gestor de descargas de torrents. En él no veremos grandes cambios, sino un montón de cambios pequeños, soluciones de errores, se ha pulido el interfaz,...

Entre lo más destacado se encuentra el soporte para el protocolo IPv6, que en un futuro será el estándar de la red. De momento no hay demasiados usuarios que lo soporten, ya que la mayoría de proveedores sigue trabajando con IPv4. Por ello, se ha implementado también soporte para Teredo, un protocolo que ofrece conectividad IPv6 a ordenadores que están detrás de un NAT con IPv4.

Otro cambios importantes son una mejor integración con Vista y una mejor distribución de las conexiones en los torrents, lo que debería acelerar la descarga.

Tras la salida de µTorrent 1.8, los desarrolladores anuncian que se centrarán en el desarrollo de la versión para Mac OS X, prometida hace más de un año y que se ha ido retrasando.

Después de muchas versiones beta, con pequeñas mejoras y actualizaciones, por fin se ha liberado la versión final de μTorrent 1.8.1. Esta versión se corresponde con la revisión 12639, si ya dispones de esa versión, no es necesario actualizar el programa porque no te aportará ningún cambio.

A partir de esta última versión, ya es posible conectarse a otros usuarios que utilicen la versión 1.7.7 del programa, sin excepciones. Además, se ha resuelto el problema que existía con el sistema operativo Windows Vista y que provocaba la caída del cliente.

Los programadores de esta versión final reconocen no haber logrado solventar la problemática de convivencia entre μTorrent y el antivirus NOD32. Cuando se activa la monitorización en tiempo real de este antivirus, IMON, es muy probable que afecte negativamente al funcionamiento de nuestro cliente de Bittorrent favorito. Por ello, directamente recomiendan que no se empleen al mismo tiempo y se desactive IMON.

He leído con atención el post de Utorrent y su incompatibilidad con Nod32,pero que tengo que hacer para desinstalarlo puesto que el pc me queda a expensas de cualquier virus y no me fio.

Yo estoy amargado el Utorrent no me descarga nada y me pone el triangulito naranja ,mañana empezare haciendo que él p...... Ono me cambie el router creo que se satura y me desconecta la conexión y Pepe lo que me comentas yo tengo el ESET Nod 32 antivirus 3.0.650.0 y ya no se que hacer para descargar estoy pensando en abrir una cuenta con megaupload y se acabaron los problemas de descargas.
Running crees que si pongo otro antivirus me funcionará mejor?

La verdad el nod no me ha gustado nunca.
En windows usaba el zonealarm suite y sin problemas.
Si te se satura igual tienes algún problema de configuración? aunque ya sabes que el tema de ono es dificil.
Pepe podria indicarte su configuración y probarla a ver si así te funciona.

Avira va muy bien , y tambien te recomiendo el avg free edition , en español y gratuito , he probado los dos y puedes trabajar sin ningun problema con utorrent.

Solucionado de momento he cambiado la configuración la he dejado como Pepe y resultado bajando dos archivos a una media de 350kbs en 2 horas 1400 megas descargados,con el Nod32 conectado,ahora solo falta que el router no se me reinicie y más contento que un niño con zapatos nuevos.

µTorrent, ese cliente de BitTorrent que se convirtió en el oficial después de ser comprado por BitTorrent™, acaba de lanzar la primera beta de la su segunda gran versión. Y aunque siga estando oficialmente solo disponible en Windows, se estima que este cliente tiene hoy en día más de la mitad del mercado. En esta ocasión el mayor cambio es el soporte para trackers UDP, lo que resumiendo mucho será un alivio para los trackers, ya que este sistema necesita menos recursos (por tanto, dinero ahorrado) que el tradicional HTTP.

Los usuarios encontrarán alguna novedad más, entre la que más destaca una utilidad de autoconfiguración, que utilizará tests de velocidad de Google para comprobar qué configuración es la más acorde a tu conexión. Por ejemplo, si tu ISP tiene la política de cortarte la conexión si te pilla compartiendo los Grandes Éxitos de Paulina Rubio, µTorrent elegirá cifrar las conexiones. En realidad no funciona exactamente así pero… ¿a que no estaría mal que lo hiciera?

Otros cambios es el soporte para uTP, para regular los datos enviados y evitar que la navegación web se vea mermada; y nuevas opciones para capar la cantidad de datos que puedes bajar, por si tu ISP te marca un límite de GB mensual. El uTorrent es bueno, me gusta el poco peso que tiene, lo puedes llevar hasta en un diskette (si es que aún se utilizan).
El único inconveniente es que cuando lo utilizas en una máquina que tiene instalado el programa DeepFreeze, ejemplo en cabinas públicas, se le tiene que configurar y programar las descargas cada vez que reinicias Windows, no importa si está en la carpeta D.

hace unos meses consegui que me baajase a 300 pero tuve que fomratear y ahora no me pasa de 15 kbs...
ya no se que hacer ni que probar...alguna ayuda consejo para un deseperado?

Ha transcurrido casi un año desde que hizo su aparición la versión alpha de uTorrent 3.0, el popular cliente de BitTorrent. Pues bien, ahora por fin se encuentra disponible la versión definitiva que viene cargada de novedades, algunas de las cuales ya venían en aquella alpha.

Una de las más llamativas es la posibilidad de ver (u oír) el vídeo o audio que nos estemos descargando a medida que se baja, sin necesidad de esperar a que termine la descarga. Esto, entre otras cosas, permite comprobar con más facilidad si lo que nos estamos bajando es lo que nos han dicho que es.

Pero no es lo único que podemos encontrar en esta versión. Entre otras cosas, tenemos la posibilidad de controlar de manera remota la descarga de torrents, sea accediendo por medio de la interfaz web o por la aplicación de Android (aún en beta). También podemos dar calificaciones e incluir comentarios en los torrents, y crear estos con tan sólo arrastrar y soltar los archivos que queremos compartir.

La interfaz también ha merecido un retoque, de manera que ahora podemos minimizar aspectos de la misma que no necesitemos. Y se ha incluido un modo portátil para que podamos llevar el cliente donde queramos en nuestra memoria USB.

por fin existe la posibilidad de ver el contenido que estamos descargando, al estilo eMule o Ares
