ReactOS 0.2.9 es un nuevo esfuerzo de la comunidad Open Source, que ha conseguido desarrollar un sistema operativo totalmente compatible con Windows NT, sus aplicaciones y drivers.
ReactOS, está directamente relacionado con el proyecto WINE, y básicamente es una implementación de las APIs del sistema operativo de Windows bajo Linux, que permiten al pingüino correr aplicaciones de Microsoft.
